Axfone is a telecommunications and IT services company founded in 2008. Initially established in the Czech Republic, it quickly expanded its operations to neighboring European countries including Slovakia, Poland, and Hungary, with offices in Prague, Brno, and Bratislava. While primarily known as a leading VoIP provider and gaining MVNO status in 2011, Axfone also established itself as a hosting provider early on, obtaining .cz domain registrar status and launching hosting services in November 2008, followed by expansion into the Slovak market in 2009. Their services were developed in-house, aiming to offer flexibility and quality at attractive prices. Their target audience ranged from households and SMEs to large international corporations, government bodies, and other telephone operators who used Axfone's technology under their own brands. However, as of June 1, 2020, Axfone's hosting division (including domain names, web hosting, and virtual servers) was acquired by IGNUM s.r.o. (now part of Webglobe). Axfone stated this move allows them to focus entirely on their core telecommunication services. Axfone India Pvt Ltd was established later as a development division.
